As a commercial and television composer, Andy Thompson has done work for many folks, including Target, Garmin, Goodyear, Sprint, NBC and the Cartoon Network, while scoring a few films along the way. He's studied everything from Bartók to the Beastie Boys, and has a degree in classical composition lying around here somewhere. He loves challenges and real instruments, but also digs deadlines and will take a nicely sampled Wurlitzer any day.
As a producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Andy's worked with Dan Wilson and Semisonic, Mike Doughty, Atmosphere, members of Nickel Creek, Andy Sturmer (Jellyfish), Puffy AmiYumi, The Pop Project and Jeremy Messersmith.
Recent work includes his French punk singing debut for Garmin's 2008 Super Bowl ad (heard by over 97 million people and nominated for an AICP award), a score for the Student Academy Award winning documentary Ladies of the Land, and a juggling and electronic music collaboration at Sorin Sirkus in Tampere, Finland.
